Compassion has been described as ‘your pain in my heart’. What pain Jesus must have felt as He ministered from place to place. Jesus had compassion with all those who needed his help. To those who sought forgiveness Jesus was absolutely gracious. It was compassion, not justice that motivated the Great Physician who came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
As Christians we are called to be compassionate and help each other in our needs.
Our greatest need is to be forgiven. Our greatest act of love is to introduce others to the Great Physician, the Lord Jesus.
Luke 7:48 Then Jesus said to her:
“Your sins are forgiven” … “Your faith has saved you; go in peace”
