What does Church mean to you?

Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

The Bible uses many metaphors to describe it:

  • the family of God
  • a spiritual building
  • the body of Christ
  • the bride of Christ
  • a royal priesthood of believers.

Today, many people wonder, what’s the point of church? Does the church have value today?

Even many confessed Christ followers have fallen away and lost connection with the church. Apparently, this was not an uncommon issue. The writer of Hebrews challenges Christ followers to realign their priorities and consider the value of the church in their lives as a place to worship in community with fellow believers, encouraging each other to love and service. We need that today more than ever in our culture. We need the church. It’s vital to our spiritual health and purpose to share God’s love to a broken world.
