Friends, I wanted to share with you some news. A few weeks ago, Debbie Banister, informed me that at the end of the year she will be finishing up as a pastoral worker at St John’s. It’s hard to overestimate the impact Debbie has had in ministry at St John’s for she has been involved in so many areas of our life together. Women’s church, pastoral care, funerals, morning tea, helping with children’s ministry, and… anything else that needed doing around the place. I know that some of you will be saddened by this news but I would encourage you to pause and give thanks to God for the work he has done here through Debbie.

The good news is, that once finishing up at St John’s, Debbie and Gary will continue to be members of our church family and contributing to our ministry just as they have always done – just maybe not quite as much.

Debbie and Gary will be on extended leave from early September through to November and then she will continue to work until the end of the year. Personally, even though we have only worked together a short time, I have been blessed by Debbie’s prayerfulness, wisdom, humility and understanding about nearly everything related to St John’s Camden!! So, on behalf of all of us, “Debbie, thank you for being a wonderful example of Christian service to us all. We thank God for you and ask for his ongoing blessing in your life, so you might continue to be a blessing to others.”

See you on Sunday

Matt
