Has worrying about something ever helped you? We can often at times find ourselves consumed when we worry or stress about the future or the past. We stay up all night struggling to sleep, we don’t concentrate at work and we are constantly filled with anxiety and fear.
Warren Wiersbe once said that the “average person is crucifying himself between two thieves: the regrets of yesterday and the worries about tomorrow.”
There is nothing wrong with planning or even saving for the future but when we allow ourselves to be so consumed by our problems that we can no longer function, no longer focus on the joy of God in our lives, we have lost. God wants us to be with him and often Satan will use our anxieties and fears for the future to separate us from God.
The solution is simple but not always easy, give your problems, your fears to God. Trust that he will give you what you need, and more importantly remember that our Father in heaven is a God who loves you, who wants what is best for you. Seek first his kingdom and he will bring you peace in this world.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:33-34
