This is the fourth of our Lord’s “I am” statements in John’s gospel (John 6:35; 8:12; 10:9). Certainly in making this statement. He is contrasting Himself to the false shepherds who were in charge of the Jewish religion of that day.
Jesus is the real McCoy! Jesus is the “Good Shepherd”. But can you say that Jesus is “My Shepherd” as David did in Psalm 23? For that to happen there is a need of being Jesus’ friend, it also means coming under his leadership, and finally accepting his forgiveness as you forgive others.
Do those things and live a fulfilled life!
John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
