We want to see Jesus

John 12:23-24 “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”

There were many people who wanted to see Jesus. Some people wanted to see Jesus because of the tricks and miracles Jesus could perform, but others wanted to see Him and hear from Him because they knew Jesus was of God.
Jesus answers in terms of speaking of the glory of God. Jesus saw beyond the cross to the glory that followed. That is when they would see Jesus in all his glory. Then Jesus uses the imagery of a seed that of itself is weak and useless but planted in the ground it dies and becomes fruitful.

In a similar way we are like a seed, we need to die to our old selves so that we can be fruitful for God, and in that God will be glorified.

Are you being fruitful for Jesus? Or are you still living for yourself?

The only way to have a fruitful life is to follow Jesus in his death and resurrection.
