John the Baptist is one of the most important persons in the New Testament. He is mentioned at least 89 times. John the Baptist had the special privilege of introducing Jesus to the nation of Israel.
He did that by calling the nation of Israel to repent of their sins and so live changed lives.
But in giving his testimony about who Jesus was and what he came to do, he made himself nothing. He portrayed himself as a nobody - only a voice to serve his Lord’s will.
Are you will to be nothing but a voice for Jesus?
John 1:23 “John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, ‘I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’”
